MLF2 Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MLF2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MLF2 is a crucial protein involved in normal hematopoietic differentiation and plays a significant role in the switching between erythroid and myeloid lineages, which is essential for proper blood cell development and function. This 248-amino acid protein is ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels found in testis, ovary, skeletal muscle, heart, kidney, and colon tissues, while lower levels are observed in spleen, thymus, and peripheral blood leukocytes. MLF2′s function is particularly significant due to its mapping to chromosome 12p13, a region frequently associated with translocations in acute leukemias of both lymphoid and myeloid origins. Notably, despite the association with these translocations, no structural alterations in the MLF2 locus have been identified in patients with 12p translocations, highlighting the need for further research into its role in leukemogenesis. Anti-MLF2 antibody (B-1) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the complexities of hematopoiesis and the molecular mechanisms underlying blood disorders.
