LOX Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LOX protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LOX antibody (B-11) is available as the non-conjugated form. The lysyl oxidase family, which includes LOX and four LOX-like enzymes, plays a critical role in the extracellular matrix by catalyzing the oxidative deamination of peptidyl lysine residues in collagens and elastin, leading to the formation of cross-links that provide structural integrity to tissues. This function is particularly important as LOX contributes to the mechanical properties of connective tissues, influencing their strength and elasticity. Dysregulation of LOX activity can result in pathological conditions, such as fibrosis, where excessive cross-linking leads to tissue stiffness and impaired function. LOX is essential for normal cardiovascular and respiratory system development, and LOX expression is intricately linked to processes such as wound healing, cell motility, and differentiation. Alterations in LOX levels have also been associated with skin aging and senescence, highlighting LOX significance in both developmental biology and age-related diseases.
