L-Selectin Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects L-Selectin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-L-Selectin antibody (B-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. L-Selectin, also known as LECAM-1 or CD62L, plays a crucial role in immune response by mediating leukocyte adhesion to endothelium, essential for immune cell migration to sites of inflammation or injury. L-Selectin is predominantly expressed on naive T cells, B cells, monocytes, neutrophils, and eosinophils, facilitating interaction with activated endothelial cells through specific carbohydrate ligands. L-Selectin binding to sialyl-Lex and other carbohydrates on endothelium is vital for leukocyte recruitment during immune responses, highlighting significance in both innate and adaptive immunity. L-Selectin interacts with other selectins, such as P-Selectin and E-Selectin, expressed on activated platelets and endothelial cells, respectively, further emphasizing significance in complex cellular interactions governing immune responses.
