L-Selectin Antibody (lam1-116) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects L-Selectin in mouse, rat, human, and guinea pig samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). L-Selectin, also known as LECAM-1 or CD62L, plays a crucial role in the immune response by mediating the adhesion of leukocytes to the endothelium, which is essential for the migration of immune cells to sites of inflammation or injury. L-Selectin is predominantly expressed on naive T cells, B cells, and various types of leukocytes, including monocytes, neutrophils, and eosinophils, highlighting its importance in the early stages of immune surveillance and response. L-Selectin interacts with specific carbohydrates on activated endothelial cells, facilitating the rolling and adhesion of leukocytes during the inflammatory response. Additionally, L-Selectin shares overlapping ligand specificities with other selectins, such as P-Selectin and E-Selectin, which further underscores its significance in the complex network of cellular interactions that govern immune function. Anti-L-Selectin antibody (lam1-116) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs.

Can L-Selectin (lam1-116): sc-13505 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, L-Selectin (lam1-116): sc-13505 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
