    SEE ALSO...

KIR2DL3 Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects KIR2DL3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). KIR2DL3 (E-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KIR2DL3 plays a crucial role in the immune system as an inhibitory receptor that interacts specifically with the human MHC class I molecule HLA-Cw3 and related alleles, thereby modulating the activity of natural killer (NK) cells. By downregulating NK cell cytotoxicity upon recognition of these MHC molecules on target cells, KIR2DL3 helps maintain immune tolerance and prevent autoimmunity, which is vital for the body′s ability to distinguish between self and non-self. The KIR family, including KIR2DL3, is characterized by an extracellular region containing immunoglobulin-like domains and a cytoplasmic domain with an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM), which is essential for transmitting inhibitory signals within NK cells. This intricate signaling mechanism underscores the importance of KIR2DL3 in regulating immune responses and highlights its potential as a target for therapeutic interventions in diseases where NK cell activity is dysregulated.
