GRP 78 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects GRP 78 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GRP 78, also known as Binding Immunoglobulin Protein (BiP), is a crucial member of the heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) family, primarily localized in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) of cells. GRP 78′s presence in the ER is vital as a molecular chaperone, ensuring correct folding and assembly of nascent proteins while maintaining protein homeostasis. This function is essential for preventing misfolded protein accumulation, which can lead to ER stress and activate the unfolded protein response (UPR), a critical cellular stress response associated with various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. GRP 78 interacts with several specific proteins, including ATF6, IRE1, and PERK, which are key players in the UPR pathway. Studying these interactions helps researchers better understand cellular stress response mechanisms and their implications in disease, making anti-GRP 78 antibody (E-4) an invaluable tool for advancing research in these important areas of biology.
