SEE ALSO...

GILZ Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GILZ in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GILZ Antibody (B-2) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The glucocorticoid-induced leucine zipper (GILZ) protein plays a crucial role in mediating immunosuppressive effects of glucocorticoid hormones, particularly in T cells, where GILZ expression is induced by dexamethasone. GILZ is primarily expressed in normal lymphocytes found in the thymus, spleen, and lymph nodes, while GILZ is absent in non-lymphoid tissues such as the brain, liver, and kidney. This specific localization highlights GILZ′s role in immune regulation and potential as a therapeutic target in conditions characterized by excessive immune responses. GILZ protects T cells from apoptosis induced by anti-CD3 antibodies by inhibiting Fas and Fas ligand expression, and disrupts the activity of key transcription factors like Egr-2, Egr-3, and NFAT/AP-1. GILZ interaction with c-Fos and c-Jun inhibits active AP-1 binding to DNA consensus sites, showcasing GILZ′s multifaceted role in immune signaling pathways. The gene encoding human GILZ is located on chromosome Xq22.3, underscoring GILZ′s evolutionary conservation and importance across species.
