Geminin Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects geminin in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Geminin is a crucial nuclear protein that plays a vital role in regulating DNA replication initiation during the cell cycle, ensuring DNA replicates only once per cycle to maintain genomic stability. Anti-geminin antibody (H-3) achieves this by inhibiting the assembly of minichromosome maintenance (MCM) proteins into the prereplication complex, effectively preventing premature DNA replication. Geminin expression levels are tightly regulated, peaking during the S, G2, and M phases of the cell cycle, while remaining lowest during the G1 phase. This fluctuation is essential, as geminin degradation during mitosis, mediated by the anaphase-promoting complex (APC), allows for the re-establishment of the replication machinery in the subsequent cell cycle. Precise control of geminin levels is critical for cellular function, as dysregulation can lead to genomic instability and contribute to oncogenesis. Anti-geminin antibody (H-3) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying cell cycle regulation and DNA replication mechanisms.
