SEE ALSO...

FRS2 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody designed to detect the Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor Substrate 2 (FRS2), also known as SNT1 or FGFR substrate 2. FRS2 monoclonal antibody (A-5) targets an epitope spanning amino acids 258-348 of human FRS2 and demonstrates robust reactivity with FRS2 from mouse, rat, and human sources, making anti-FRS2 antibody (A-5) versatile for applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FRS2 plays a pivotal role as a docking protein in the FGF and NGF signaling pathways, essential for the activation of the Ras/MAPK pathway by bridging receptor tyrosine kinases to key signaling molecules like GRB2 and SOS. Located primarily at the plasma membrane, the subcellular localization of FRS2 is crucial for its function in signal transduction, facilitating effective interactions with activated receptors. Structurally, FRS2 is characterized by four Grb2 binding sites, a myristylation sequence necessary for membrane anchoring, and a protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) domain, all of which are vital for its interactions and signaling capabilities. Post-translational modifications, including myristylation and tyrosine phosphorylation, are essential for FRS2′s membrane localization, stability, and its ability to recruit additional signaling proteins, thereby regulating the strength and duration of downstream signaling cascades. FRS2 interacts with several critical proteins such as GRB2, SOS, and components of the Ras/MAPK pathway, which are integral to processes like cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Understanding these interactions and modifications underscores FRS2′s significance in various cellular functions and its implications in diseases, including cancer. Available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® variants, FRS2 (A-5) antibody provides researchers with a versatile tool for exploring FRS2-mediated signaling pathways and their impact on cellular biology.

What is the difference between the (A-5) clone and the discontinued polyclonal sc-8318: FRS2 (H-91)?

Asked by: cjMara
FRS2 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal raised against the same recombinant protein immunogen used to make polyclonal antibody sc-8318, amino acids 258-348 of FRS2 of human origin. The mouse monoclonal antibody is more specific and consistent, with published data in WB and IHC(P), and featured in 5 recent publications.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor signal to noiseI bought this antibody a month ago and have been dis-satisfied and am looking for a replacement. I know I have plenty of protein of interest because when I probe for pFRS2 I get great signal. So overall I am unhappy.
