EVL Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects EVL (Ena/VASP-like protein) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EVL plays a crucial role in cell motility and cytoskeletal organization, as EVL (G-8) antibody recognizes an actin-binding protein belonging to the Mena/VASP protein family. EVL is primarily located at filopodia tips and at the leading edge of lamellipodia and focal adhesions, which are essential for cellular movement and shape changes. EVL localization allows for dynamic cytoskeleton remodeling, facilitating processes such as cell migration and adhesion. Structurally, EVL contains an N-terminal EVH1 domain, a proline-rich core, and a C-terminal EVH2 domain, which are critical for protein interactions. Through a proline-rich domain, EVL interacts with spectrin a II′s SH3 domain and TES′s LIM domain, linking to various signaling pathways that regulate cytoskeletal dynamics. The close relationship between EVL, VASP, and Mena highlights these proteins′ importance in nervous system development and their collective role in growth cone motility and axon guidance. Anti-EVL antibody (G-8) enables researchers to gain valuable insights into cell motility mechanisms and cytoskeletal architecture regulation in various biological contexts.
