EVL Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects EVL protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EVL (C-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EVL protein, known as Ena/VASP-like protein, plays a crucial role in actin dynamics and cell motility, as an actin-binding protein belonging to the Mena/VASP family. EVL is primarily localized at filopodia tips and at the leading edge of lamellipodia and focal adhesions, which are essential for cellular movement and shape changes. EVL presence in these regions is vital for cytoskeletal organization regulation, influencing processes such as cell migration and adhesion. Structurally, EVL features an N-terminal EVH1 domain, a proline-rich core, and a C-terminal EVH2 domain, which facilitate interactions with other proteins, including spectrin α II′s SH3 domain and TES′s LIM domain. These interactions maintain cytoskeletal integrity and ensure proper cellular responses to environmental cues. EVL is closely related to VASP and Mena, both involved in cytoskeletal dynamics and particularly important during neuronal development, contributing to growth cone motility and axon guidance. The functional interplay between EVL, VASP, and Mena highlights their importance in regulating cell motility and overall cytoskeletal architecture.
