SEE ALSO...

EP4 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects EP4 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EP4 (C-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EP4, a member of the E-prostanoid receptor family, plays a crucial role in mediating prostaglandin E2 effects, a significant lipid mediator involved in various physiological processes, including renal function. EP4 is predominantly expressed in the glomerulus and collecting duct of the kidney, where EP4 couples to Gs proteins to stimulate adenylyl cyclase activity. This action leads to an increase in cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels, which is essential for regulating glomerular tone and influencing renal renin release. Proper functioning of EP4 is vital for maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance, and dysregulation has been implicated in various renal pathologies. Understanding EP4 in kidney physiology can provide insights into potential therapeutic targets for conditions such as hypertension and chronic kidney disease.

Is there a blocking peptide available for this antibody?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately as this antibody is raised against a recombinant protein and not a short synthetic peptide it is not possible to design a blocking peptide for it.
