eotaxin Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects eotaxin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). eotaxin Antibody (C-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. eotaxin, also known as eotaxin-1, is a crucial member of the C-C or β family of chemokines, distinguished by adjacent cysteine residues, which play a significant role in mediating immune responses. eotaxin is primarily located in the lungs and is secreted by various cell types, including epithelial cells and fibroblasts, in response to inflammatory stimuli. eotaxin′s localization is vital as this chemokine acts as a potent chemoattractant for eosinophils, which are key players in allergic reactions and asthma. Eosinophilia, characterized by an increased number of eosinophils, is a hallmark of several allergic conditions, including bronchial asthma, dermatitis, and conjunctivitis, making eotaxin a critical target for understanding and potentially treating these diseases. CKR-3, identified as the high-affinity receptor for eotaxin, is expressed on the surface of primary eosinophils, underscoring eotaxin′s importance in orchestrating eosinophilic responses in allergic inflammation.
