SEE ALSO...

Egr-2 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Egr-2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Egr-2 antibody (G-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Egr-2, a sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor, plays a crucial role in regulating transcriptional activities that govern cellular growth, differentiation, and function. Egr-2 is particularly important for involvement in the transcriptional regulation of genes such as HoxA4, which is essential for proper embryonic development. Egr-2 is primarily localized in the nucleus, where Egr-2 binds to specific DNA sites in the promoter region, facilitating the expression of target genes. Notably, defects in Egr-2 can lead to congenital hypomyelination neuropathy (CHN), a condition characterized by early onset hypotonia, areflexia, distal muscle weakness, and significantly reduced nerve conduction velocities. Additionally, mutations in the EGR2 gene are implicated in Dejerine-Sottas syndrome (DSS), which presents with severe early onset motor and sensory neuropathy, further underscoring the importance of Egr-2 in maintaining proper neurological function.
