SEE ALSO...

DOHH Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the DOHH protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DOHH (B-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DOHH protein, also known as deoxyhypusine hydroxylase or HLRC1 (HEAT-like repeat containing 1), plays a crucial role in the post-translational modification of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A (eIF5A) by catalyzing the hydroxylation of deoxyhypusine to form hypusine, a modification essential for eIF5A′s function in cell proliferation and differentiation. The presence of eight tandem HEAT repeats in the DOHH structure is significant as these contribute to DOHH′s stability and interaction with other cellular components, facilitating enzymatic activity. The evolutionary conservation of DOHH, along with deoxyhypusine synthase and eIF5A, underscores DOHH′s importance in cellular processes, and inhibition of DOHH has been linked to cell cycle arrest at the G1/S boundary, suggesting potential as a target for antitumor therapies.
