DEPTOR Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects DEPTOR in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DEPTOR, also known as DEP.6 or DEPDC6, is a 409 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the regulation of the mTORC1 and mTORC2 signaling pathways, which are essential for cellular growth, proliferation, and survival. By negatively regulating these pathways, DEPTOR helps maintain cellular homeostasis and prevent uncontrolled cell growth, making DEPTOR a significant player in cancer biology and metabolic disorders. DEPTOR is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where DEPTOR interacts with various signaling molecules, including FRAP, through its PDZ domain. This interaction is vital for the modulation of mTOR activity, and any dysregulation in DEPTOR′s function can lead to various diseases, including certain types of cancer and neurological disorders. DEPTOR is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 8q24.12, a region associated with numerous genetic conditions and malignancies, highlighting the importance of studying DEPTOR in the context of human health and disease. Anti-DEPTOR antibody (E-2) is an invaluable tool for researchers aiming to explore the intricate roles of DEPTOR in cellular signaling and its implications in various pathologies.
