DEPTOR Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects DEPTOR in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DEPTOR, also known as DEP.6 or DEPDC6, is a 409 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in regulating mTORC1 and mTORC2 signaling pathways, which are essential for cellular growth, proliferation, and survival. By negatively regulating these pathways, DEPTOR helps maintain cellular homeostasis and prevent uncontrolled cell growth, making DEPTOR a significant player in cancer biology and metabolic disorders. DEPTOR is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where DEPTOR interacts with various signaling molecules, including FRAP, through its PDZ domain. This interaction is vital for proper functioning of mTOR pathways, as DEPTOR influences cellular responses to nutrients and growth factors. DEPTOR undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which can further modulate activity and interactions, highlighting the importance of these modifications in cellular signaling. Anti-DEPTOR antibody (D-2) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying intricate mechanisms of mTOR signaling and implications in various diseases, including cancer and metabolic syndromes.
