CTLA-4 Antibody (1B8) is a Armenian hamster monoclonal IgG antibody engineered to target the extracellular domain of murine CTLA-4, also known as CD152. CTLA-4 is a pivotal immune checkpoint protein that plays a critical role in regulating T cell activation by competing with the costimulatory receptor CD28 for binding to B7 ligands (CD80/CD86) on antigen-presenting cells. This interaction is essential for maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing excessive immune responses that could lead to autoimmunity. CTLA-4 (1B8) antibody effectively modulates immune responses, making CTLA-4 (1B8) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying T cell regulation and immune-related pathways. CTLA-4 (1B8) antibody demonstrates strong reactivity with mouse CTLA-4 in various applications, including immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). The precise epitope recognition of CTLA-4 (1B8) monoclonal antibody ensures reliable and consistent results, facilitating detailed investigations into the mechanisms of T cell inhibition and the therapeutic potential of immune checkpoint modulation. Additionally, anti-CTLA-4 antibody (1B8) is instrumental in advancing research in immunology and cancer therapy, where understanding and manipulating immune checkpoints are crucial for developing effective treatments. CTLA-4 (1B8) monoclonal antibody provides robust performance and specificity, supporting significant advancements in the field of immune regulation.

Can CTLA-4 (1B8): sc-18829 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

    Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CTLA-4 (1B8): sc-18829 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
