SEE ALSO...

CPI-17 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects CPI-17 in mouse, rat, human, and porcine samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CPI-17 is a crucial phosphorylation-dependent inhibitory protein that plays a significant role in regulating smooth muscle contraction by inhibiting myosin phosphatase activity. CPI-17 is primarily located in the cytoplasm of smooth muscle cells, where CPI-17 modulates the contractile response by enhancing calcium sensitivity. This localization is vital because CPI-17 effectively interacts with myosin phosphatase and other signaling molecules, thereby influencing smooth muscle tone and vascular function. Notably, CPI-17 is phosphorylated at Threonine 38 by various kinases, including protein kinase C and Rho-kinase, which increases inhibitory potency and contributes to the physiological processes of smooth muscle contraction. CPI-17′s ability to undergo dual phosphorylation at Serine 12 and Threonine 38 by the MYPT-associated kinase, M110 kinase, further underscores CPI-17′s importance in smooth muscle signaling pathways. With robust reactivity and versatility in various applications, anti-CPI-17 antibody (A-7) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying smooth muscle physiology and related disorders.
