SEE ALSO...

CPI-17 Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CPI-17 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CPI-17 antibody (C-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CPI-17 plays a crucial role as a phosphorylation-dependent inhibitory protein for smooth muscle myosin phosphatase, which is essential for regulating smooth muscle contraction. CPI-17 is primarily located in smooth muscle tissues, where CPI-17 modulates myosin phosphatase activity, thereby influencing muscle contraction and relaxation. Phosphorylation of CPI-17 at Threonine 38, mediated by protein kinase C or Rho-kinase, significantly enhances inhibitory effect on myosin phosphatase, contributing to calcium sensitization during smooth muscle contraction. CPI-17 is also phosphorylated at Serine 12 and Threonine 38 by MYPT-associated kinase, M110 kinase, further underscoring CPI-17′s importance in smooth muscle physiology and potential implications in various cardiovascular and gastrointestinal disorders.
