COL5A1 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects COL5A1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-COL5A1 antibody (C-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. COL5A1, also known as Collagen Type V Alpha 1 Chain, plays a crucial role in the formation of the extracellular matrix, particularly in connective tissues such as tendons, ligaments, and skin. COL5A1 is essential for maintaining the structural integrity and tensile strength of these tissues, as COL5A1 contributes to the formation of collagen fibrils that provide support and elasticity. COL5A1 interacts with other collagen types, such as Type I and Type III collagens, to form a stable and functional extracellular matrix. This interaction is vital for normal tissue development and repair, and dysregulation of COL5A1 expression has been implicated in various connective tissue disorders, highlighting COL5A1 significance in both health and disease.
