    caspase-7 p20 Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects caspase-7 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Caspase-7 is a crucial member of the Ced-3/caspase-1 family of cysteine proteases, which are integral to the apoptotic process, facilitating programmed cell death by cleaving specific substrates that are vital for cellular homeostasis. Notably, caspase-7 cleaves poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), a key protein involved in DNA repair and cellular stress responses, into an apoptotic fragment, thereby contributing to the dismantling of cellular components during apoptosis. Precise regulation of caspase-7 activity is essential, as dysregulation can lead to various pathologies, including cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
