SEE ALSO...

caspase-7 p20 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the p20 subunit and precursor of caspase-7 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-caspase-7 antibody (B-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Caspase-7 is a crucial member of the Ced-3/caspase-1 family of cysteine proteases, which are integral to the apoptotic process, facilitating programmed cell death by cleaving specific target proteins that regulate cellular longevity. The p20 subunit of caspase-7 plays a role in the cleavage of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), a nuclear protein involved in DNA repair and cellular stress responses. The ability of caspase-7 to cleave PARP into an apoptotic fragment underscores its significance in apoptosis, as this process is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing the propagation of damaged cells. Caspase-7 is activated by upstream caspases, such as caspase-10, in response to apoptotic signals, further highlighting its role in the intricate network of cellular signaling pathways that govern cell death and survival.
