SEE ALSO...

caspase-14 Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects caspase-14 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. anti-caspase-14 antibody (D-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Caspase-14, also known as MICE (mini-ICE), plays a crucial role in apoptotic processes, particularly during embryonic development, where expression levels are high. Caspase-14 is unique among the caspase family due to specific processing and activation pathways; caspase-8 and caspase-10 can cleave caspase-14, but other caspases cannot, highlighting specialized function in apoptosis. Caspase-14 presence in embryonic tissues suggests importance in regulating cell death during development, ensuring proper tissue formation and homeostasis. Caspase-14 is largely absent in adult tissues, indicating a potential shift in role as organisms mature. Understanding caspase-14 function and regulation is vital for elucidating contributions to both normal physiological processes and pathological conditions, such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, where apoptosis plays a significant role.
