Datasheets
  • CARP Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 14-39 near the N-terminus of CARP of human origin
  • recommended for detection of CARP of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG1 BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for CARP Antibody (E-3) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with CARP Antibody (E-3) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

CARP Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CARP (cardiac ankyrin repeat protein) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CARP is a crucial nuclear protein involved in the regulation of cardiac gene expression, particularly in cardiac hypertrophy, where CARP expression is significantly elevated in conditions such as abdominal aorta constriction and end-stage heart failure. CARP plays a vital role in inhibiting the transcription of key cardiac markers, including cardiac troponin C and atrial natriuretic factor, by acting downstream of the cardiac homeobox gene Nkx2.5. Notably, CARP′s interaction with the major calcium-binding protein of cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum, Calsequestrin, suggests a complex regulatory mechanism that may contribute to cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis. Furthermore, CARP is induced by transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) in vascular smooth muscle cells, where CARP may mediate TGFβ′s inhibitory effects on cell proliferation, highlighting CARP′s importance in both cardiac and vascular health. With specificity and versatility, anti-CARP antibody (E-3) is an essential tool for researchers investigating cardiac function and pathology.
