FGF-22 Activators

FGF22 Activators are compounds identified to influence FGF22, a member of the fibroblast growth factor family, primarily by modulating the cellular processes and signaling pathways it is involved in, rather than by directly activating the protein. Chemicals like Phosphatidic acid and Sodium butyrate can modulate FGF22 activity indirectly. Phosphatidic acid influences cell signaling pathways, while Sodium butyrate, an HDAC inhibitor, impacts the expression of genes, potentially those related to FGF22. Other chemicals like Forskolin and Retinoic acid also serve as indirect activators; Forskolin modifies pathways FGF22 is involved in by elevating cAMP levels, and Retinoic acid modulates gene expression through its receptors, potentially affecting FGF22 activity.

Additional chemicals that can indirectly influence FGF22 include Dexamethasone, known for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive actions, and 5-Azacytidine, which can alter DNA methylation and gene expression patterns, possibly those of FGF22.
