ZAG Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ZAG in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ZAG (F-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ZAG, or Zn-a2-glycoprotein, is a soluble protein predominantly found in serum and other bodily fluids, including cerebrospinal fluid, blood plasma, urine, and sweat. ZAG plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, particularly in adipocytes, where ZAG stimulates lipid degradation. ZAG overexpression is linked to significant fat loss in patients with advanced cancers, highlighting ZAG′s potential as a biomarker for cachexia and metabolic disorders. ZAG is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and shares a high degree of sequence similarity with class-I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens, suggesting ZAG′s involvement in immune responses. ZAG′s unique structural features, including a large groove similar to the peptide binding grooves of class I MHC, further underscore ZAG′s functional significance in cellular processes.
