    SEE ALSO...

ZAG Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects ZAG (Zn-α2-glycoprotein) in S. equi subsp. zooepidemicus through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ZAG is a soluble, secreted protein predominantly found in serum and other body fluids such as cerebrospinal fluid, blood plasma, urine, and sweat, and plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism. ZAG′s structure features a large groove similar to the peptide binding grooves of class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens, which allows interaction with various ligands and potentially modulates immune responses. ZAG′s ability to stimulate lipid degradation in adipocytes is vital, as overexpression is linked to extensive fat losses observed in advanced cancers, highlighting importance in both metabolic regulation and cancer biology. Anti-ZAG antibody (E-3) is an essential tool for researchers investigating ZAG′s roles in these critical biological processes.

What blocking solution should I use with ZAG (E-3): sc-390772 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
