SEE ALSO...

VHR Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects VHR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VHR (F-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VHR protein, a member of the dual specificity phosphatase family, plays a crucial role in regulating mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase signaling pathways, which are essential for mediating cellular responses to a variety of stimuli. By dephosphorylating specific phosphothreonine and phosphotyrosine residues on MAP kinases, VHR helps maintain cellular homeostasis and prevent excessive signaling that could lead to pathological conditions such as cancer. VHR expression is induced by growth factors and cellular stress, highlighting its importance in cellular adaptation and survival. Human VHR is located on chromosome 17q21 and encodes a 185 amino acid protein that exhibits both protein-serine and tyrosine phosphatase activities, with notable expression in breast and ovarian tissues, making VHR a significant target for research in cancer biology and therapeutic development.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374161 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly potent and fairly specific antibodyThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested in-house by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and validated for use for Western blotting. There was very strong detection of the ~21 kDa target protein in mouse tissues (brain/testes/thymus/muscle mix). No major cross-reactivities were observed at 2 µg/ml antibody concentration with off-target proteins in the mouse tissues tested, except for a very strongly cross-reactive protein of ~25 kDa in size.
