SEE ALSO...

VCP Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Valosin Containing Protein (VCP) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VCP (D-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Valosin Containing Protein, also known as TERA (transitional endoplasmic reticulum ATPase) or p97, plays a crucial role in cellular processes as a member of the AAA family of ATPases. VCP is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is essential for various cellular functions, including cell cycle regulation and membrane dynamics. VCP is particularly important for misfolded protein degradation and cellular component recycling, as VCP interacts with ubiquitinated substrates and the 26S proteasome, facilitating damaged protein removal. Proper functioning of VCP is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis, and VCP dysregulation has been implicated in several diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and cancer.
