SEE ALSO...

VAP-1 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects VAP-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VAP-1 Antibody (A-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VAP-1, also known as vascular adhesion protein-1, plays a crucial role in immune response by facilitating lymphocyte adhesion to vascular endothelium, essential for immune cell migration from bloodstream to lymphoid tissues and inflammation sites. VAP-1 is a type II transmembrane sialoglycoprotein predominantly expressed on endothelial cells during inflammatory conditions, with significantly upregulated expression. VAP-1 functions as both an adhesion molecule and a monoamine oxidase enzyme, important for biogenic amine metabolism. VAP-1′s structure includes a single transmembrane domain and multiple glycosylation sites, critical for function and stability. VAP-1 predominantly exists as a homodimer, requiring proper glycosylation for mediating lymphocyte adhesion and recirculation. VAP-1 is expressed in various smooth muscle cells, though not supporting lymphocyte binding in these cells. Soluble VAP-1 levels are elevated in patients with inflammatory liver diseases, suggesting potential use as a biomarker.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-166713 P appropriate for?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
