USP25 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects USP25 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). USP25 (C-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. USP25, also known as ubiquitin specific peptidase 25 or USP21, is a crucial component of the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which regulates protein degradation and various cellular processes. This 1087 amino acid protein is predominantly expressed in the pancreas, kidney, skeletal muscle, testis, liver, heart, brain, and lung, where USP25 associates with the 26S proteasome to function as a deubiquitinating enzyme. USP25′s ability to remove ubiquitin from substrate proteins is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis, as USP25 influences signal transduction, transcriptional activation, and cell cycle progression. Notably, USP25 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in two short, ubiquitously expressed isoforms and one long, muscle-specific isoform, which is upregulated during myogenesis and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of severe myopathies. USP25′s diverse roles in cellular regulation underscore USP25′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states, making anti-USP25 antibody (C-5) an essential tool for researchers studying the ubiquitin pathway and its implications in various biological processes.
