SEE ALSO...

UGGT1 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UGGT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UGGT1 (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UDP-glucose glycoprotein glucosyltransferase 1 (UGGT1 or HUGT1) is a crucial enzyme belonging to the glycosyltransferase 8 family, playing a vital role in glycosylation pathways essential for protein folding and quality control within the cell. UGGT1 identifies misfolded glycoproteins by reglucosylating single N-glycans near misfolded regions, effectively tagging these proteins for recycling back to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) for refolding or degradation. This process maintains cellular homeostasis and prevents accumulation of dysfunctional proteins, which can lead to various diseases. UGGT1 is predominantly localized in the endoplasmic reticulum and ER-Golgi intermediate compartment, with significant expression observed in skeletal muscle, pancreas, brain, and kidney tissues, highlighting its importance in both structural and functional roles across different organ systems.
