Ubr1 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ubr1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Ubr1 antibody (A-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ubr1 plays a crucial role in the N-end rule pathway, which is integral to the ubiquitin-proteasome system responsible for protein degradation. This pathway links the half-life of proteins to the identity of their N-terminal residues, allowing for selective degradation of proteins based on their functional state or cellular context. Ubr1, also known as E3 alpha and N-recognin, recognizes specific N-terminal residues and catalyzes the attachment of ubiquitin to target proteins, marking them for degradation. Two zinc finger domains and a RING-H2 finger domain in Ubr1 are essential for substrate recognition capabilities, highlighting structural importance in mediating these interactions. Ubr1 is located on mouse chromosome 2 and human chromosome 15, with ubiquitous expression in adult tissues, particularly in skeletal muscle and heart, while in mouse embryos, Ubr1 is predominantly expressed in the branchial arches and limb buds, underscoring significance in developmental processes.
