TWIK-2 Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TWIK-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TWIK-2 (H-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TWIK-2 protein, a member of the two-pore domain potassium channel family, plays a crucial role in maintaining the resting membrane potential and regulating cellular excitability, which is vital for proper neuronal function and overall cellular homeostasis. Notably, TWIK-2 is predominantly expressed in the pancreas, placenta, and heart in humans, while in mice, TWIK-2 is primarily found in the liver. The unique expression patterns of TWIK-2 highlight potential involvement in various physiological processes, including cardiac function and metabolic regulation. Additionally, TWIK-2 is sensitive to intracellular acidification, which can influence activity and, consequently, potassium ion homeostasis within cells. This makes TWIK-2 an important target for studies related to ion channel physiology and pathophysiology, particularly in conditions where pH levels fluctuate.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376515 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
