TTF-1 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects TTF-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TTF-1, also known as thyroid transcription factor-1, is a crucial member of the Nkx2 family of homeodomain-containing transcription factors, playing a vital role in regulating the transcriptional activity of thyroid-specific genes. TTF-1 is predominantly located in the epithelial cells of the lung, thyroid, and brain, where TTF-1 is essential for organogenesis and the maintenance of differentiated tissue phenotypes. In the lung, TTF-1 is instrumental in the transcription of surfactant proteins A, B, and C, which are critical for proper lung function and gas exchange. Additionally, in the thyroid, TTF-1 enhances the expression of key thyroid-specific markers, including thyroglobulin, thyroperoxidase, and thyrotropin receptors, thereby influencing thyroid hormone synthesis and regulation. TTF-1 also interacts with other proteins such as SRC-1 and CBP, which are important for transcriptional activity, highlighting TTF-1′s role in complex regulatory networks that govern cellular differentiation and function. Anti-TTF-1 antibody (E-4) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.
