TSHR Antibody (2C11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR) in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-TSHR antibody (2C11) plays a crucial role in the study of thyroid function, as TSHR is primarily located on the surface of thyroid follicular cells, where TSHR mediates the effects of thyroid-stimulating hormone. TSHR (2C11) monoclonal antibody enables research on this essential receptor that regulates thyroid hormone synthesis and secretion, which are vital for maintaining metabolic homeostasis in the body. The binding of TSH to TSHR activates intracellular signaling pathways, including the production of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), which subsequently influences gene expression and cellular activity. Dysregulation of TSHR signaling can lead to various thyroid disorders, including hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, making TSHR a significant target for therapeutic intervention. Understanding the localization and function of TSHR is critical for developing strategies to manage these conditions effectively.

Can TSHR (2C11): sc-32263 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, TSHR (2C11): sc-32263 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
