TRF2 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TRF2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRF2 (B-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TRF2, or telomeric repeat binding factor 2, plays a crucial role in maintaining telomere integrity by binding to the telomeric DNA sequence, thereby preventing chromosome ends from fusing with one another. This function is vital for cellular stability, as telomeres protect genetic material during cell division and prevent activation of DNA damage responses that could lead to cellular senescence or apoptosis. TRF2′s ability to inhibit end-to-end chromosome fusions is particularly important in cancer biology, where down-regulation of TRF2 expression can lead to genomic instability and contribute to tumorigenesis. Additionally, TRF2 is characterized by a basic N-terminus, which is essential for interaction with telomeric DNA, and exhibits dynamic localization within the cell, residing in the nucleolus during interphase and dispersing during mitosis. This unique behavior underscores TRF2′s regulatory role in the cell cycle and importance in maintaining telomere function.
