TREM-2 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TREM-2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TREM-2 (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TREM-2 plays a crucial role in the immune response, particularly in myeloid cells, where TREM-2 acts as a receptor that, upon binding to its ligand, initiates signaling pathways promoting macrophage activation and survival. This function is vital for maintaining immune homeostasis and responding to inflammation, as dysregulation of TREM-2 signaling has been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer′s disease. TREM-2 is located on chromosome 6p21.1 and encodes a 230 amino acid protein that forms a signaling complex with DAP12, enhancing immune response through upregulation of chemokine receptors and promoting dendritic cell maturation. Mutations in TREM-2 are associated with conditions such as Polycystic lipomembranous osteodysplasia with sclerosing leukoencephalopathy (PLOSL), highlighting TREM-2′s importance in both health and disease.
