TRC8 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TRC8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRC8 (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TRC8 protein, also known as RNF139 (ring finger protein 139), RCA1, or HRCA1 (hereditary renal cancer associated 1), is a multi-pass membrane protein primarily expressed in the testis, adrenal gland, and placenta, with lower expression levels found in the liver, skeletal muscle, pancreas, kidney, brain, heart, and lung. Localized to the endoplasmic reticulum, TRC8 features ten transmembrane segments, a sterol-sensing domain, and a RING-type zinc finger, suggesting a role as a ubiquitin ligase and signaling receptor. TRC8 interacts with the Von Hippel Lindau (VHL) tumor suppressor protein, and disruption of either protein can lead to similar developmental defects, highlighting their functional relationship. TRC8 gene is implicated in hereditary renal cell carcinoma due to association with chromosomal translocation events, reinforcing a potential role as a tumor suppressor. TRC8 is involved in mediating G2/M phase cell cycle arrest, promoting apoptosis, and inhibiting DNA synthesis, making TRC8 a critical player in cellular regulation and cancer biology.
