TP1 Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TP1 (B-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TP1 protein, also known as telomerase-associated protein 1, plays a crucial role in maintaining telomere length, which is vital for cellular aging and stability. Telomerase, an RNA-dependent DNA polymerase, adds telomeric repeat sequences to chromosome ends, counteracting natural shortening during cell division. In most somatic cells, telomerase activity is low or absent, leading to progressive telomere shortening and eventual cellular senescence. However, in immortalized cells and many tumors, telomerase activity is reactivated, allowing unlimited cell division and contributing to tumorigenesis.
