    SEE ALSO...

TIP47 Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects TIP47 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TIP47, also known as human placental tissue protein 17b (PP17b), plays a crucial role in intracellular protein transport by binding to cytoplasmic domains of cation-dependent and cation-independent mannose 6-phosphate receptors (MPRs), facilitating movement from endosomes to the Golgi complex. The selective binding of TIP47 to specific cargo molecules maintains proper protein sorting within the endosomal pathway, recognizing a phenylalanine/tryptophan signal sequence in cation-dependent MPR, essential for effective transport. TIP47′s interaction with cation-independent MPR depends on specific cytoplasmic residues, highlighting TIP47′s importance in protein trafficking regulation. TIP47 shows overexpression in tissue extracts from cervical carcinoma patients, with higher levels in dysplastic cells of high-grade dysplasias compared to low-grade dysplasias, suggesting potential use as a cancer progression biomarker. TIP47′s encoding gene location on chromosome 19pter-19p13.3 emphasizes significance in cellular processes and disease states.
