Tim50 Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Tim50 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tim50 (C-9) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tim50, also known as Tim50L or TIMM50, plays a crucial role in mitochondrial function as a key component of the Tim23 complex, which is essential for importing nuclear-encoded precursor proteins into the mitochondria. Tim50 is primarily located in the inner mitochondrial membrane, where Tim50 facilitates the translocation of proteins necessary for mitochondrial biogenesis and function. Proper functioning of Tim50 is vital, as defects in Tim proteins have been linked to various neurodegenerative diseases, highlighting their importance in cellular health and development. Tim50 exists in two isoforms produced by alternative splicing, with isoform 1 localized to the inner mitochondrial membrane and isoform 2 found in nuclear speckles, indicating a diverse functional repertoire that may influence cellular processes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good for IFI bought this Ab for immunofluorescence, haven't tried it in WB, but it gives a lot of background in IF and not very helpful especially when you want to see the MIM clearly.
