SEE ALSO...

TIM-1 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TIM-1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TIM-1 (A-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TIM-1 , also known as kidney injury molecule 1 or HAVCR1, is a single-pass type I membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the immune system, particularly in the development of T helper 2 (Th2) biased immune responses. TIM-1 is selectively expressed on Th2 cells, which are essential for mediating responses to extracellular pathogens and regulating allergic reactions. Expression of TIM-1 on the surface of these cells allows for the modulation of immune responses, making TIM-1 a significant player in conditions such as asthma and other allergic diseases. Additionally, TIM-1 serves as a receptor for the hepatitis A virus, highlighting TIM-1′s importance in viral pathogenesis. TIM-1 is widely expressed in various tissues, with the highest levels found in the testis and kidney, underscoring TIM-1′s potential roles in both immune regulation and organ-specific functions.
