SEE ALSO...

TGFα Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TGFα protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TGFα Antibody (D-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Transforming growth factor-α (TGFα) is a crucial 50 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in cell signaling and growth regulation. TGFα binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor, mediating tyrosine phosphorylation of the receptor and promoting anchorage-independent growth of normal rat fibroblasts in soft agar, particularly with transforming growth factor-β. TGFα is secreted by transformed cells, tumors, embryonic cells, and some normal adult cells, highlighting TGFα′s importance in both normal physiology and pathological conditions. TGFα bioactivity has been detected in cancer patients′ urine, suggesting TGFα′s potential role as an autocrine growth factor that may contribute to malignancy induction or maintenance. Understanding TGFα function is vital, as TGFα influences cellular proliferation and has implications in cancer biology and therapeutic strategies.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374433 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not workWe tested this antibody in IP and western. Unfortunately, it does not work at all. We used as control other antibodies anti-TGF-a that we created and published. SCBT should solve this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The product is good. This antibody is a small molecule, and it's not easy for a novice to get a good WB result. So even though I didn't get the wanted results,I still want to give it a good comment.Maybe I should learn more to improve my experimental skills.
