    SEE ALSO...

Teneurin-1 Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Teneurin-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Teneurin-1 antibody (B-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Teneurin-1, also known as tenascin M1 (TEN-M1), TNM, ODZ1, or ODZ3, is a 2,725 amino acid single-pass type II membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and is primarily localized to the membrane of fetal brain cells. Teneurin-1 exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer and features a complex structure that includes eight epidermal growth factor-like domains, twenty-three YD repeats, five NHL repeats, and a Teneurin N-terminal domain, which are essential for mediating cell-cell interactions and signaling pathways. Proline-rich regions in the cytoplasmic domain suggest potential interactions with SH3-containing proteins, highlighting Teneurin-1′s importance in various signaling cascades. The gene encoding Teneurin-1 is located on human chromosome Xq25 and mouse chromosome X A4, making Teneurin-1 a significant focus for studies related to neurodevelopment and potential implications in neurological disorders.

Can Teneurin-1 (B-1): sc-398018 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Yes, Teneurin-1 (B-1): sc-398018 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Primate retinaAntibody was tested under standard conditions (Long Y, Bordt AS, Liu WS, Davis EP, Lee SJ, Tseng L, Chuang AZ, Whitaker CM, Massey SC, Sherman MB, Marshak DW. Wide-field diffuse amacrine cells in the monkey retina contain immunoreactive Cocaine- and Amphetamine-Regulated Transcript (CART). Peptides. 2016 Oct;84:22-35). The isolated retina of a baboon was fixed for 60 minutes in 4% paraformaldehyde. Tissue was incubated for 9 days in a 1:1,000 solution of primary antibody with detergent and a blocking agent at 4 °C, washed, then incubated in an affinity-purified secondary antibody for 4 days at 4 °C, washed, and mounted in medium containing DAPI. No peptide blocking control was performed. Results: Light punctate labeling and low background throughout the optic fiber layer, ganglion cell layer, inner plexiform layer, and inner nuclear layer (less).
