SEE ALSO...

TAZ Antibody (1F1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TAZ protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TAZ antibody (1F1) is available as the non-conjugated format. The transcriptional co-activator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ), also known as WWTR1, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and gene expression regulation. TAZ is primarily located in the cytoplasm and nucleus, where TAZ acts as a key mediator in the Hippo signaling pathway, which is essential for controlling cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. Proper localization of TAZ is vital because nuclear translocation allows TAZ to interact with various transcription factors, thereby influencing gene expression that governs cell proliferation and survival. Dysregulation of TAZ localization can lead to uncontrolled cell growth and has been implicated in various cancers. TAZ (1F1) antibody recognizes immunoreactive protein bands in lysates from MDCK, NIH-3T3, and 293T cells, and TAZ is also expressed in COS7, Hep G2, CHO, and HeLa cells. Notably, TAZ binding to 14-3-3 proteins is contingent upon phosphorylation at Serine 89, which subsequently inhibits transcriptional co-activation through 14-3-3-mediated nuclear export, highlighting the importance of post-translational modifications in regulating TAZ function.

Can sc-293183: TAZ (1F1) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-293183: TAZ (1F1) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
