t-GMP Antibody (48A10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects t-GMP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). t-GMP (48A10) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. t-GMP protein plays a crucial role in the Golgi complex, specifically localizing to the trans-most cisternae and trans-tubular network, which is vital for proper sorting and modification of proteins as they transit through the Golgi apparatus. This localization ensures proteins receive necessary post-translational modifications, such as glycosylation and phosphorylation, essential for stability, activity, and eventual delivery to functional destinations within cells. The Golgi complex′s distinct compartments, including cis, medial, and trans Golgi networks, contain specific enzymes that facilitate these modifications, underscoring t-GMP′s precise localization in maintaining cellular homeostasis and function. Treatment with fungal metabolite brefeldin A can disrupt this organization, leading to t-GMP translocation back to the endoplasmic reticulum, highlighting t-GMP′s dynamic role in cellular processes. In adult rat epididymis, t-GMP and c-GMP exhibit a reticular, perinuclear expression pattern, further emphasizing t-GMP′s relevance in tissue-specific functions.
