StARD8 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects StARD8 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). StARD8, also known as DLC3 (deleted in liver cancer protein 3) or STARTGAP3, is a member of the steroidogenic acute regulatory protein-related lipid transfer (START) domain family, which consists of fifteen proteins that are crucial for lipid metabolism and transport. Specifically, StARD8 is a RhoGAP protein that interacts with Rho A and Cdc42, localizing to focal adhesions where anti-StARD8 antibody (A-8) plays a significant role in regulating cell growth and proliferation. The presence of one RhoGAP domain, one sterile alpha motif (SAM) domain, and one START domain in StARD8′s structure is essential for function, as these domains facilitate interactions with other cellular components and signaling pathways. Notably, overexpression of StARD8 in various cancer cell lines has been shown to repress cell proliferation and colony formation, suggesting a potential role as a tumor suppressor. StARD8′s ability to modulate these critical cellular processes underscores importance in cancer biology and highlights anti-StARD8 antibody (A-8) utility in research focused on understanding tumorigenesis and cell signaling mechanisms.
