SEE ALSO...

StARD8 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects StARD8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). StARD8 (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. StARD8 protein, also known as deleted in liver cancer protein 3 (DLC3) or STARTGAP3, is a member of the steroidogenic acute regulatory protein-related lipid transfer (START) domain family, which consists of fifteen proteins that share a characteristic START domain and are involved in lipid metabolism and transport. StARD8 is specifically classified within the RhoGAP START group, alongside StARD12 and StARD13, and functions as a RhoGAP protein that interacts with Rho A and Cdc42. StARD8 protein is primarily localized to focal adhesions and features a RhoGAP domain, a sterile alpha motif (SAM) domain, and a START domain, which are crucial for cellular signaling pathways. StARD8 functions as a tumor suppressor; studies have shown that overexpression of StARD8 in various cancer cell lines leads to repression of cell proliferation and colony formation, highlighting StARD8′s potential role in regulating cell growth and implications in cancer biology.
